Workshops & Programs

Writing workshops for 2023 will be added to the Workshops drop-down menu, as they are scheduled.

Workshops

The Peter Cowan Writers Centre has conducted many workshops and courses in prose, poetry and memoir writing since the Centre was founded over twenty years ago. Our facilitators are all experienced presenters with literary qualifications and/or are published authors. The Centre will be running several workshops in 2023. These will be added to the website Workshop drop-down menu once registrations open.

PCWC members receive a $10 discount on our workshops, as do members of our sister centres Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre (KSP) and the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA (FAWWA). Our members also receive reciprocal member rates for KSP & FAWWA workshops. To secure your member discount, please quote your current PCWC membership number on the workshop registration form.

We look forward to welcoming you to Edith Cowan House for a Peter Cowan Writers Centre workshop.

The Four Centres Emerging Writers Program

The Four Centres Emerging Writers Program is currently underway for the period 2021-2023.  In 2021, The Western Australian Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries announced further funding for the program to assist emerging writers to develop their manuscripts and author branding skills to achieve publication. Fremantle Press are administering the program again with four, not-for-profit WA writing centres participating:

Peter Cowan Writers Centre Inc.,
Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre,
The Fellowship of Australian Writers WA, and
WA Poets Inc.
