Life and fictional writers who want to include historic or current factual events need the skills to do research and to write that research seamlessly into their work.

Dr Maureen- Helen will show you some of the methods that can be used for note-keeping, tools for researching and then incorporating your findings into your story in a way that enhances and creates a meaningful background to your work. She will emphasize the importance of reading regularly and widely.

Maureen-Helen is an experienced teacher and published author. Her memoir ‘Other People’s Country’ (ABC Books 2008) was listed for a Walkley Award and short listed for the Premier’s Book Awards (SLWA WA History Prize). She holds a PhD in writing.
