Youth Workshop for 13 – 17 year olds Plot and Theme in Short Stories with Brooke Dunnell WR1618

Sunday , 18th September 2016, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Unfortunately the workshop scheduled for Sunday, 18th September 2016 is now full.   However an additional workshop with Brooke is now being held on Sunday, 25th September 2016, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

BrookeAt its most basic level, plot is what ‘happens’ in a story. Science fiction, fantasy, romance, horror: regardless of genre, all plots rely on similar elements in order to be successful.
In focusing on how to develop good short story plots, this workshop will look at conflict, cause and effect, and creating interest. Once plot has been established, we will explore how the themes of a story can be drawn out in order to strengthen a work and make it sing.

Cost: $15
