About the workshop
Learn how to assess elements of style, character, plot and pacing in your own novel in this workshop designed to help you in the initial stages of self-editing.
Ideal for writers who are drafting a manuscript, have completed a 1st draft and are looking at the next stage, or for writers needing inspiration around structure and ‘where to go from here’.
About Jess
Jess Gately is a freelance editor and publishing professional with a particular interest in speculative fiction. She is the President of Editors WA, sits on the board for Night Parrot Press, and has been a judge for the Aurealis Awards since 2019. Jess is a casual academic at Curtin University in the Professional Writing and Publishing major, and her Masters project looked at the editorial approach to fictional languages in sci-fi and fantasy. Jess is passionate about the power of language and stories to connect people and change the world.
Cost: $50 members and eligible WUWA members. $62 non-members.
