Workshop Overview
De-fluffing Drafts offers an introduction to self-editing prose. Through an interactive discussion of self-editing techniques and how to apply them, this activity-based workshop allows writers to practise skills as they go. From filters to redundancies, we’ll critique the sneaky ways writing can be ‘fluffed’ up during drafting and explore methods for de-fluffing. The final activity will give participants the chance to put it all together by self-editing a piece of their own writing. Writers will leave with the confidence to identify ‘fluff’ and apply self-editing skills when revising their own drafts.
