Why do certain people, events, places and objects from our past continue to matter to us? Why might it matter to re-create those memories with words?
This three-hour workshop will help you discover the words that honour your memories, whether for your own benefit or for those who wish to read about your past. We will consider the difference between memoir and autobiography; the nature of memory itself – subjective, fragmented, sometimes intense, and always subject to change. Also the use of different kinds of language and techniques to make your memoir “live” on the page.
