Peter Cowan Writers Centre (PCWC) is pleased to announce Brooke Dunnell as our 2016 Writer-in-Residence.
Brooke is a Perth-born writer whose fiction has been published in the anthologies Best Australian Stories (Black Inc), New Australian Stories 2 (Scribe), Fire (Margaret River Press) and Allnighter (Cardigan Press), as well as the journals Meanjin, Westerly, :etchingsmelb and voiceworks. Her short stories have been commended in the 2013 FAWWA Hadow/Stuart Short Story Competition and the 2004 University of Canberra National Short Story Competition (tertiary section), and twice read on ABC Radio National. She has experience as an undergraduate creative writing tutor, workshop presenter and editorial assistant. Brooke has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Western Australia.
Brooke will be based at PCWC for the month of September conducting creative writing workshops and consultations and working on her own residency project. Events for her residency include:
